Started watching this on iplayer when 3 episodes were available...watched the 3rd one first by mistake then watched 2nd and wondered why they all didn't know each other then I realised what I'd done! Have given up for now but may go back to it as I enjoyed it...even back to front!

I watched the first five episodes on i-player after reading the comments here. Love it!!! It's so nice to find a gentle drama that I can understand (unlike another new Beeb drama 'The Intruders' which has me completely baffled).
Not sure why Detectorists has been hidden away on BBC4, I wouldn't have known about it without this forum.

Yes, it was great, wasn't it! Well written and superbly acted. I admire a sitcom that isn't afraid to be poignant as well as funny.
