We don't watch much telly and we haven't tuned into the games but my OH is a keen cyclist, races in time trials, he encourages the whole family to give it a go! To be fair, we do occasionally participate (I claim 29mins in my first 2up 10mile race - very proud of myself!!) though the kids aren't that keen on cycling......BUT the highlights of the Tour De France have been on - the kids have all been out on bikes with their friends for the last couple of week, long rides too. One son has done over 100miles over last 5 days.
Those few highlights have encouraged my boys more than the OH ever could, it might not last but that's 2 weeks without an Xbox so far!
So I'm all for a bit of sport on the TV
