stuffed 8 ball courgette

I picked and cooked my first courgette of the season today.

It was an 8 ball variety, that I have just finished eating

I stuffed it, and it came out pretty good for a first attempt!!!!

Good grief, they're huge - mine only have buds at the moment

I'm growing 8 ball too this year & would also recommend 1 ball which is yellow - I don't know why but I think yellow courgettes are slightly sweeter

I have never tried a yellow courgette. Maybe next year!!!!!

I am also growing picollo, that is more rugby ball shaped I think.

I got all seeds from the VSP!!!

We grew 8 ball last year, they're very very prolific!

I planted two out in the allotment earlier in the week................much to the slugs delight.

Slight tangent but I wonder why they're called 8 Ball? Does anyone know?

IIRC it's based on Pool VC,1 ball is yellow & 8 ball is black
