I'd have thought it'd be a great opportunity for a company to produce some fun looking, lightweight, waterproof clothing...something like a rain mac or plastic head cover but more trendy looking that the sort of thing my granny used to wear back in the '50s?????

I've seen those see through ponchos ...anyone aware of anything else available?

I remember many years ago before I started hill walking going on a ramble with my workmates organised by our boss when it rained incessantly and a few of us, (the nutters), donned heavy duty bright orange waste bags with a hole cut for the head - looked completely ridiculous but it kept us relatively dry whereas the others were sodden. I enjoyed it so much I started hill walking and joined our outdoor club - most of the others swore they would never do it again - I think the rain had spoiled their make up but the girls were ok theirs was waterproof.

Morning All.....Another very blowy, wet night. Drier and calmer this morning. No change in the water level in the garden. Supposed to be bad again later today and tonight. Yippee. Not

The collected the wheelie bin at stoopid o'clock this morning, but the recycling is still at risk of being liberally spread throughout the village in the wind, cos they've not collected it yet. Cats came in and out through the bedroom window all night, varying stages of soggy mogginess. We do have two catflaps - obviously neither are good enough......

Shopping to do today. We've been putting it off and putting it off, but it has to be done.

A second catflap - that's an idea. The only thing is that it would have to be in the side wall out to the drive, as I wouldn't want to put one in the front door as it's a bit near the road, and the drive is at a lower level than the house, so it would mean building steps in the drive up to catflap level. It's getting to be a big job. Dear me, are you sure you've thought this through, Jules?

Shen, I have been known to wear a bin-bag on occasions, too. Freak storm at an outdoor Gig, seems to be a dim and distant memory.

Ha!!..that reminds me of when I once tied a shopping bag around my head when I was on the lottie to try and keep the rain from pouring down my neck!!

..yes...all the wimps rushed to their cars...but I just wanted to finish off something before it got dark.

Some days when I was farming I would have about 8 coats soaked through and then resorted to Hessian sacks with one corner pushed in to the other corner it made a good hood, a bit of bale string round the waist and bobs your uncle. Perhaps not designer gear but you never know it might catch on. My usual attire was jeans with patches and holes, braces, Doc Martin boots and often a check shirt. At one point in the 1980's I was actualy very fashionable.

I cannot be doing with online grocery shopping. When it comes to fruit, veg, and meat I'm really picky. And I like to bargain hunt....

Shopping for everything else online is brilliant. Especially the odd low carb stuff like whey protein and unusual sweeteners. And sneaky fabric shopping - my armchair has the best range of fabrics in the world!!

These garden birds are getting expensive! I am having to fill the feeders on a daily basis. I am sure they watch me from the trees and tweet all their friends about it.

I wear walking trousers most of the time nice and comfy plus they dry out quick, if its a rainy walk I'll wear my gaiters they don't half make a difference. I even wear them at work when I wash down the van otherwise I get soaked of the hose.

Aaaaaaaarternoooooon Peeps. What an awful day, it got colder and wetter as the day wore on, so the garden is sub-aquatic again now.

After stables duties, me an' chum met up for another dog-walk. Came home soaked to the skin, and the dogs were filthy again, and had to be hosed. They're just about getting used to it now.

Need something a bit stronger than coffee G4. It's been a lousy day again, and it's now absolutely pi**ing down So fed up with this weather, but also glad I don't live on a flood plain. Feel so sorry for those who have been flooded out of their homes, and some whose homes have actually been destroyed by the weather.

After a wet start the weather gods were eventually kind to us,so I got to take Mrs.BB to our favourite Funchal restaurant for her "almost retired" dinner,she had lobster gratin with salad & a nice bottle of "white" ......

Hideous cold drizzle here again all day, but got out there for a run round Sutton Park at lunchtime nonetheless. *halo

And what am I doing this evening? Still mucking about with the data list that I was working on last night. Tonight's task is to check a distance from each record & enter it in the spreadsheet. There are 338 records, and I've done 44........
