You know as Mods we have enough to do handling spammers etc without acting as referees between Grapes.
Yes , yesterday's 'discussions' were unpleasant for all.

Hearing different points of views are always interesting and we need to show respect and/or tolerance for other's points of view.
We're not all like minded and we need to hear thoughts 'outside our own personal boxes' to progress in life, otherwise we'd all be stuck in the same rut...forever.

We do sometimes have new people on the Vine (who aren't used to our usually friendly forum) who can be abrasive initially...and also spammers/trolls who pretend to be new members but are out to disrupt the forum just for the fun of it. *sigh.

I'm just asking that we show respect / tolerance for other people's points of view even if we don't agree with them for whatever reason.

(Please remember there is a report button to alert us mods when threads are getting out of hand-sometimes we don't always notice until the feathers are flying.)

We all want the Vine to be a friendly yet educational place to visit so let's concentrate on making that our priority eh?

Takes a lot to upset me normally Mikey and I usually manage to count to 10 and keep it zipped. Bottom line is well put by Nicos in her post. If anyone doesn't follow that philosophy, they are not on the right forum. This is supposed to be a fun thing to do and that is how I use it.

I really wish I could follow your lead AP, sometimes its like an itch inside a plaster cast, you can't help but scratch it and you only make it worse. I humbly apologise for my part in the discussion and will self impose a spell on the norty step.

There have been times when I had an urge to make a comment on here, which I thought would be funny, but possibly not in good taste - I KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT
Those that know me personally accept my humour and sometimes even laugh, on this e-world inter web thingy people can react adversely to what they thought you meant, rather than to what you actually wrote.

Since the thread is now closed and I can't be bothered sussing it out I have to say we only have your word for that


On a serious note this Forum is light hearted and informative 99.99% of the time - I have only ever encountered one Troll, presumably because the Mods have caught any others before they could do any damage. On the political blog I used to frequent before it closed down this type of behaviour was the norm and you had to develop a hard skin to seal with it..

Abrasive or arrogant posts are not the norm on this Forum. The poster can always be ignored without use of the ignore list - they will soon stop posting you when they get no reply.

I know I'm new around here, discussion/argument is healthy, if a member can't keep civil they should be advised to try harder, why close the thread and censor all those that haven't had the chance to voice their opinion ?
