  • Good news for Christmas

I have had a bit of a tough time with real problems with my joints in the last few months. This week I had a load of blood tests to confirm rheumatoid arthritis. I also had a test for Lyme disease of which arthritis is a later symptom. Having not had any earlier symptoms or an obvious tick bite this was an after thought.
Tonight the results are in and it is Lyme. So assuming I survive the 250 euro of drugs including injections twice a day for a fortnight, my kidneys don't fail or my brain bleeds I may be able to walk again soon. Best present ever!
Have a great Christmas everyone and think of my backside like a pincushion when you sit down next:-)

Lymes disease is seriously debilitating so, whilst I'm glad to hear that it can be treated, I am really sorry to hear that you have it.
Here's to a speedy recovery and look forward to next year on the slopes x

                  Ditto and very good luck.

A "bullseye" tick bite is and advantage (apparently) because you can start treatment straight away but I've always understood that it's not a pre requisite. At least doctors are now willing to admit that it is quite widespread in the past they insisted it was only in the New Forest area.

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

Is it common in the Hautes-Pyrenees ?

Identifying the problem is such a relief! Although the treatment may be 'nasty', at least it only lasts a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed for you and Happy New Year.
