    Erm.....innocent? No, definitely not.

I stayed at a friend's house one weekend, ooohhhh way back in 1982. Her boyfriend stayed over too. We went down to her local pub, where her BF put 50p in the machine in the Gent's for a packet of three. Nothing happened so he thumped the machine and it then spat out about 60 packs.

Soooo......after a few drinks, we're looking at these many packets of condoms, and then at the bucket of wallpaper paste left by her Dad in the unfinished diningroom.

I'll leave the rest up to your imagination...................

Did you fill them up with wallpaper paste too

Ohh, I think I'm being a bit slow here 'cos the paste wouldn't have glued them to the letterboxes, would it?
      Gawd, I'm so old..................

Not quite filled - just a teaspoonful in the bottom.

We put one on our door too, for verisimilitude. The screams the next morning when people collected their milk or papers!!! It was very respectable new housing development. Until then.

I'm sorry - thirty years later and I still laugh. It was the most reckless thing I've ever done in my life!

Oh bless! How sweet of him. That's really lovely.

I was a butter-wouldn't-melt child really. I do remember asking Ness why we were putting wallpaper paste in them

Not sweet at all, he was drunk
He was totally mad though. One day we'd been on one of the paddle steamer cruises in the Channel and it was quite late when we disembarked at Penarth Pier. Who should be there to meet us but this crazy neighbour, his wife and their quite mature twins. He rushed up to me, picked me up and carried me the length of the pier, much to the amazement of his wife and kids and my husband (and my embarrassment)
I sometimes wonder why I always have nutty neighbours

Mike, would you like your thread back now
