When I was little, my grandmother's siblings used to send presents for us all. They (my gran included) were a bit eccentric and presents we got could be great or just plain odd.

One year, I got a used lipstick. It looked really expensive, in a gold casing. But it had been used nonetheless. I think the same year, my aunt received a pair of beautiful leather gloves. Unfortunately both gloves were for the left hand.

            Happy memories! 🎅🎁🎄

I remember being a young kid, there was a present under the tree with my name on. Me and my half sister were convinced it was a potty! Perfect shape and everything. All I could think was - "why the hell do I need a potty at my age????" Incidently, it turned out to be a toy gas mask - no less wierd, but all the same it wasn't a potty!!!

                That reminds me.....

In 1977, asking Santa for a Raleigh Chopper bike. Sadly, Santa is a bit dense and I got a Raleigh Shopper bike, complete with naff white vinyl saddle bag and a basket that my violin fell out of regularly.

Apparently, my wish list handwriting was not clear enough. I'm sure it improved vastly in the intervening 12 months......never been so disappointed in my life! And how the other kids laughed....

A lovingly hand-knitted tank top. With matching gloves. And hat. In fluorescent green shiny nylon.

I think the worst for me was being forgotten when I was about 8. My Nan had remembered everyone else but forgotten me, strange but it still pulls at the heart strings even now.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

My Grandma's presents are hilarious! I look forward to them as they are so terrible!
One Christmas I got a single duvet cover - I'd been married with a double bed for 8 years then,
The following year I got a lovely cheese board with knife set, oh, and also with cheese! - this had been left wrapped on top of her wardrobe since she'd bought it. ewwww
One year I got red sparkly Christmas candles that she'd one in a raffle - raffle tickets still attached - also, I was there when she won it! hahaha
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!
