Why do Smilies move?

The Title says its all really!
We have 11 Smilies to dot around our posts (in Advanced) and, for no obvious reason, they jiggle themselves around and end up in a different order.
I rarely use or but they leap in to the space that should be!!
Is it done to ?

I never noticed that! But then, I tend to go for a quick reply and just type the symbols/punctuation which make up the smilies.

I do and I swear at them - they must play some sort of musical chairs game!!
Mine look like yours at the mo, Bren, but I bet they won't in a few weeks time

Maybe the little used smilies are jealous of the more popular ones and try and push them out of the way.... a bit like weeds......
