Sounds a bit scruffy to me Advise her to get something which looks clean! Actually we are a bit shabby chic/vintage here, but there's not a finger mark to be found (I hope!) now, dog hair.... it's a losing battle Sick of clearing it up, have started to hoover the dog, trying to cut out the middle man!

Hi ancee,I agree, it looks so out of place in theirs. however you could try shaving the dog but then making coats is a bit of a performance, so just remove the spectacles and don't look, pretend the sofa is mohair. Vintage, I like. it is usually so solid, until the leg falls off.

Have to say, during the summer months, most of my furniture looks 'fake-aged' but in the winter months I'm a bit more likely to dust/vacuum it off!

Indeed. Although I'm not actually a 'tart', more a middle aged frump. But thanks for the big-up.

I'd just dust it, and maybe a gentle wipe over with a soft damp cloth, but try not to remove too much of the effect.

Who am I kidding, I'd turn the lights out so you couldn't see the dust - it's what I do at home lol.

Me too. It's the best solution.
