  • Sad weekend :(

Said a sad goodbye to my beautiful old cat Muppet yesterday. He came to me as a stray 14 years ago and never left. He was a gorgeous long haired black cat and a force to be reckoned with. He was known to pounce on dogs passing our gate and very few neighbourhood pets got one over on him. It's only been the last two weeks he's gone downhill. Better that way I guess. He'll be missed by lots of people such was his big personality. Seems funny this morning just the other two screeching for their breakfast

...and a huge hug from me.

My heart still breaks when I think of Neo- who died 5 years ago. He used to nibble my chin in the mornings to wake me up.
Precious memories-Muppet will stay with you for ever- he sounds like he was quite a character. I bet you're glad he adopted you!

Thank you all and Nicos yes Muppet used to comb my hair with his nails gently to wake me in the mornings! Strange cats! It'll take me a while to come to terms with not having him around. We're going camping tomorrow for 5 days and I didn't want him to die when I couldn't be with him to bury him and everything so I had to make the horrible decision yesterday. It was time though. He might have gone on a few more days perhaps a week, but where's the dignity?

So sorry Muppet. You did the right thing - hard though it must have been. RIP little furry Muppet.

                  Sorry to hear about Muppet.

We lost Fred last year, and he suddenly went downhill just as you described.

It was one of the hardest decisions to make, but equally one of the easiest when we considered his future quality of life.

Just try to remember that it does get easier, and your eyes wont always instantly fill up when you think of him.

Thinking of you. Spent yesterday looking after one of mine who has been poisoned by something (according to the vet) goodness knows where.

((((HUGS)))) from me too - it's not a year yet since we lost our old Lady, who was at least 22 that we knew of. They leave a huge hole don't they.

Oh bugga, pass the tissues, I'm blubbing now!

So sorry for you, Muppet. No words help, but he must have had a good life with you or he'd have moved on. Fourteen is a good age for a boy cat.
