  • dog poop on grass grrr!

Does anyone know how I can get the dog to stop peeing on the grass?? He has left massive burn marks and he has only been home a week!!!

Sure he does it to annoy me, Ill take him out for a walk have a nice pee and poop then Im sure he sees me enjoying myself to much in the garden and forces one or the other out

Sorry for the crude post thought Id ask before I go crazy and send him to the local takeaway shop!

    Jen x

Short answer - you can't stop him.

You can stop the burn marks though, keep a bucket of water handy and pour immediately over the pee (not the dog).

Or get some of these Dog Rocks Lawn Burn Supplement 200gm | Pets at Home

Fence it off. Or as soon as you see him starting, say 'No!' in a very loud/authoritative voice and move him immediately to the place he is allowed to go. It's instinct for a dog to want the garden to be scented by them in some way - it's their territory only if it smells of them.

If this is only a recent thing- has he perhaps got cystitis or a kidney/bladder infection?
        Certainly worth considering.

Our two stayed off our lawn whilst it was growing back as we put up a short fence (about a foot high) using green netting.

It was enough for them to break out of the habit of going there. Kept it up for about 3 to 4 weeks and have now removed it.

Down side is that I have had to accept the dogs peeing elsewhere in the garden and one of the woodchip areas has been designated for this....

I water the lawn where my puppy has been and the lawn is looking really good for it. The urea in diluted form is actually really good for the grass as it will green it up no end.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
