Minor Rant Thread - Part 9

Dorothy.

It seems to be patchy, some learning disability people have �150 disposable income a week, thats after all their expenses. Others seem to fall through the net like the chap I mentioned. Very sad at this time of the year too. We care for two men and they have the life of Rielly.

Really I'm meaning those young people without a diagnosed disability, low self esteem, low confidence, maybe Ashburgers, mental health issues, family issues,homeless, etc, those that really struggle, so many of the support agencies are just not there any more. Those that don't meet Social Services criteria, even the organisation I used to work for, hardly exists any more, and in some areas had gone completely.

I can imagine the 2 men you care for, do have a good life with you, they are lucky, i certainly couldn't do what you and your wife do, but difficult teenagers, love them!

I remember ( bit of similar story to yours this morning), many years ago, I was in Royal Festival Hall, with friends having coffee/ lunch whatever, we had been to exhibition with our children. A smartly dressed man, suit etc, was moving from table to table, as people moved on, he was eating what they had left on their plates.

I love a good firework, but.....

We have winds of up to ninety miles an hour and there are morons - mostly my neighbours - out there setting off fireworks. The wind is taking them further horizontally than the explosive can carry them upwards, so what is the point?

And it's nearly quarter past ten - give it a freakin' rest and maybe I'll be able to find my missing cat

Also, take your poor dog in; he is petrified and he's been out since 6pm in this horrendous weather. Weather that is much more severe than last weekend's storm and with added explosions.

Lack of sleep....................not been to bed yet thanks to the all night party below me. The police no longer get involved in noise nuisance & the councils dept are "too busy"...........I think if it happens again, I may just have to trip the fuse to their flat................

Idiots who run red lights............I don't mind them running amber as I tend to hold back a tad anyway just in case. It's a good job I was more than a tad late setting off this time or I'd have been joining the grapevine in the sky.................

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two teenage girls were hit by a car in Hampshire.

Jasmine Allsop, 14, and Olivia Lewry, 16, were walking along Ann's Hill Road in Gosport when they were hit by a Honda Civic at about 04:15 GMT......

I know that I am old, and that things have moved on a bit, and - of course - this is an appalling tragedy for the families of the two girls, but what on earth was a 14yr old girl doing out walking with her 16yr old friend at 4.15 in the morning???

Selfish people who have a strop when something doesn't go their way, and then decide to stop providing the service we have paid for, before the end of the paid-up period. It may only be seven quid, lady, but it's my ruddy seven quid. Stroppy c*w!

Gmail seems to be like toffee in opera. It's driving me nuts. It doesn't respond quickly enough to a tab hit so my subject lines are being written next to the email addy. Aggghhh.

The fact that we send aid to India yet they are sending a rocket to Mars! I read this morning that 600 million Indians still defacate outside and 400 million are below the poverty line. What is the matter with these people? Does the Indian Government think less of its starving millions than we do? We gave up our space program a long time ago for economic reasons.
