Water Feature

I thought I'd pick your brains, I have this trough in the garden kicking around and I thought it would be nice to turn it into a water feature, but I can't decide what sort of form it should take.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I like heaps of round beach pebbles with water bubbling up in the middle and running over them - like the contrast between wet and dry pebbles. Or you could have a little Mannikin - or is that a cigar?

Maybe cut/file the rounded edge lip flat put a hose through the hole raise it somehow and have a small waterfall

Probably a cr@p idea and to much hassle but maybe what I would do I never take the easy option

I like those round ball ones with water flowing over the top, you could get a round ball put the hose thru the sink drain, up thru the ball and then have a small lake at the bottom. I like the easy option, so I'd buy the ball with a hole in it.

I like the look of that BM, though I think the concept that its pumpless is inaccurate. It has a pump!!!

I've been looking for decorative spouts/cast iron taps that could flow into the terracotta base, but haven't found anything industrial enough yet.

Ooh vc! Aren't the kettle ones lovely? Also like the watering can, hmmm... wonder if the car boot sale is on on Sunday... Only problem is, once I go off looking for something - so does everybody else! - Hey! no-one copy me!

You could use a clear plastic 1/2" pipe sticking up vertically from the opening in the trough with a standard 1/2" tap attached to it. Suitably lit at night you could give the impression of water flowing out of a tap floating in the air.

I like the idea of a folly style with a watering can, sainsbury's have a galvanised can for �10.50 at the moment. Just need to run my (vc's) idea passed the powers to be and decide where its going to go. When I'm fit enough to do it of course.
