    can anyone tell me what this flower/weed is

    it is the most amazing colour,not a very good pic as it was on opposite bank of river

    Look like Celandine to me. - if you mean the little yellow flowers.

        They are lovely - as long as they don't get into your veggie patch! They seed and spread like crazy!

          Since its on the river bank, could it be Marsh marigolds? | The Wildlife Trusts
          The ones in your photo look a bit tall for celandine.

            I'm with VC, kingcups they are. And I agree, a fantastic rich yellow colour. Always the first plant I put in at the side of a new pond and the first to flower each year thereafter.

              think thats the one VC. the celandine seems to be ground covering but this seems to be upright, will have a better look tomorrow if i can brave the nettles.
