Phew - thought it was my addled brain again Are there generic battery packs or will only a Wickes one fit the drill?

Yep sorry. My previous post is missing the crucial word!!! Not worth it!

Sorry! Pesky iPhone key pad is too small for my lumbering fingers.

Ah ok. I can get battery packs rebuilt cheaper than a new unit but its probably worth it for an own brand drill IMHO.

Its a Wickes 12v Cordless Drill/Driver Kit with 5 position torque control. Means nothing to me except I know where Wickes is

So I now have to decide whether to buy a new battery, a complete new drill kit or live without it as I have for the last 8 years
What model & brand of drill is it VC?

And on the subject of pallets, these have just arrived. They're about 3' square x 2' high.

The nice men said they would be around for the rest of the week if I changed my mind about where to put them. Also there may be a couple more, taller ones and a pallet. When I said all I needed was some soil they said there was a pile of it next door surplus Today just keeps on getting better

How long did you leave it charging for? Was it - is it still in the drill -if so take it out and see if there is any corrosion -leaks - white mouldy looking bits.

After 8 years it is probably as dead as a dodo

Some advice about Cordless drills required please!
I put the battery on charge - but its not charging. The red light stays on and there's no life in the battery when I tried it. It hasn't been used for 8 years so is it a write-off?
Just when I've worked up the courage to use it - its defunct
