    • asking for some "pre used" decking on Gumtree without any real expectation of success. Getting 6 x 5mtr x5omm x150mm unused joists, 12 x 5 mtr x150mm unused boards plus many useable offcuts. Absolutely magic. Oh and 6 x 2.4mtr x100mmx100mm posts.

When I got to the house and went round the back, there was loads of decking but fixed in place and I initially thought, damn I haven't taken my wrecking bar but the bits I had to take were round the other side of the house.

I'm a happy happy bunny and will be dreaming of raised beds . Knackered taking it home though

      • Bargains -
First, lots of fruit and veg reduced to 9p and 19p in the supermarket while I waited . The assistant marking it down was trying to load the lot into my trolley, just to get rid of it!
Second - Cheap plants in H0meb@se and incredibly helpful staff. One told me about some duvet covers he'd just reduced from £40 to £5 but he didn't know where they were in the store. He kept all my cheap plants behind the checkout desk while I went looking for them - without success. Went back to checkout and he was waiting for me with a 100% cotton double duvet cover and pillowcases for £4.83 - they were still in the stockroom.
Then the girl at checkout said she'd carry my stuff out to the car as she was on her way home anyway.
Top marks to all the sales assistants I've met today

Wish he'd arrived on the 1st - might have been a prize worth celebrating bigtime
                    I'm not complaining though
