      • This evening my mum dropped round unexpectedly and joined us for supper. Afterwards we went out to see how the strawberries were doing and me, my mother and my 4 yr old son spent a happy 20 mins fossicking for strawberries and got a lovely lot which we then ate with the rest of the family. Doesn't get much better than that
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

Happy memories of finding glow worms on holiday in France. I had no idea just how accurate their name is!

Happy today because I'm packing for a festival and the weekend will be spent with good friends, good music, good politics and good cider
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

                      • After the joy of having a cataract replacement lens and getting her peripheral vision back, my mum was downhearted (I was furious!) when her optometrist said he didn't think it was worth doing the other eye.

However.... today took her for the regular annual diabetic eye check-up at the hospital, and a gorgeous young consultant, (whose last name was full of consonants, but whose first name was Vasily), cheerfully said she could have the other cataract done if she wanted, and there and then put her on the list. I could have kissed the man!

                              • Waking up at the same time as the one you love, with the sun shining, and him saying, shall I water the garden before it gets too hot? He is such a sweetie! Especially since he is a horticultural moron (in a nice way).
