This evening my mum dropped round unexpectedly and joined us for supper. Afterwards we went out to see how the strawberries were doing and me, my mother and my 4 yr old son spent a happy 20 mins fossicking for strawberries and got a lovely lot which we then ate with the rest of the family. Doesn't get much better than thatIs there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

Our nice neighbours giving us some left over crates that their new slabs came in. Will be taking them up the lottie over the weekend and will be fantastic for raised beds for pots

After the joy of having a cataract replacement lens and getting her peripheral vision back, my mum was downhearted (I was furious!) when her optometrist said he didn't think it was worth doing the other eye.
However.... today took her for the regular annual diabetic eye check-up at the hospital, and a gorgeous young consultant, (whose last name was full of consonants, but whose first name was Vasily), cheerfully said she could have the other cataract done if she wanted, and there and then put her on the list. I could have kissed the man!Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.
