Aaaaaaaaarternooooooon Peeps - yeah, I'm back. The weather forecast was a little off, in that our 'sun after lunch' arrived very much earlier than expected. No complaints from me!

Sadly didn't get to ride the BIIIIG 'Orse, as I had too many other 'chores' given to me by Mr.G today, and I didn't want to leave the dawgs on their own for too long. Too warm to take 'em with me today, too.

My feet hurt. The Bh is a crippled wreck. We've been to Wells market - I must be ill, or something, I only bought a secondhand novel. Then the BH had the idea to go to the shopping outlet park at Street - The Boy needs a suit for his Prom - so orf we went. We trogged around, very slowly, and my feet have swelled in the warmth. I've got some lovely blisters despite wearing hydrocolloid plasters.......

Wore my sewing themed skirt, complete with net underskirt, and turned quite a few heads. I don't care if some of the looks were less than complimentary. Funniest reaction was in a very fashionable high street store - teenage girls were over my skirt like a rash asking where I bought it and not believing that it was homemade! (Cos, yeah, you can't, like, make stuff like that at home, right?)

My gnome fabric arrived today, so after the seaside skirt we're going for gnomes.....

Oh dear, a large black cat has ravaged a pigeon on our back lawn. There are feathers all over and the pigeon is seriously hurt. It's sitting in the corner outside my back door underneath the hose. I'm not sure what to do. I don't like pigeons, but I hate to see anything hurt.

That's horrible Flo. A vet told me to cover the bird with newspaper or a cloth and drop a brick on it - but that was for a small injured bird and may not be enough for a pigeon. I've never done it anyway. I move them to a quiet spot and hope they recover or have a peaceful passing

I've just had a wasted forty minutes, belting around to find a courier in our useless excuse for a town. It is peopled by morons. I'm actually too cross to go to the 'Rant' thread, coz I'll probably get banned.

Nooooooooooo! Can't do the brick thing or the spade. I know it will have to be despatched because it obviously can't fly, but I'm too much of a wimp to do it. I can't even bring myself to touch it in case I hurt it more. A lot of it's skin is exposed and bleeding. I'm hoping I see the chap who lives in this area and keeps birds. Oh dear, oh dear

Put a cardboard box over it Flo, to keep it cool and the flies away. Then hope that someone comes along who can help.

I do feel your pain Flo, I had to do the brick thing once, it wasn't a pretty sight so the bird, brick and old towel all went into the dustbin.

Had a nice surprise today - on Friday night I received a panic phone call from the Secretary of a Family History Society saying she had forgotten to book a table for the Troon Fair next day.

As I had set up earlier that evening I knew the hall was pretty full but told her not to worry as, in a worst case scenario, I would let her have one of my 2 tables, and this proved to be the position on Saturday.

This morning I received an email from said Secy. saying that at their Committee meeting last night they had agreed to give us a free table at their August show and would be refunding our �15 fee.

Just goes to prove that old saying: 'What goes round comes round'

Hello all!

Spent a lovely extra day off work getting my hair cut, a bit of shopping and relaxing in my garden.

I'm currently munching on celery thanks to my new diet and really hoping my home grown stuff won't be as bitter as this!!!

I'd be the same as you Flo. Couldn't kill anything off. I usually leave them to my cats if they are close to dead as it is a natural thing.
