Well quite embarrassingly for �10, I could get very very drunk....hic.

I could probably achieve it without even spending a penny.

Marcher - I bought a Red Haven from Aldi last year. It's healthy but has not fruited yet. Snadger also bought one but I think his was the year before, he had a post going at one time but seemed to drop off. It may have been me that dropped off........

I didn't see them at my local ones last year, I went on the first day they had them and got a few fruit trees and they didn't have any peaches or apricots then.
Maybe they don't sell them this far north, they're technically not considered very suitable for NW England since they get diseases in wet, damp climates such as this and need a hot summer to ripen fruit. However Red haven is supposed to be one of the hardier ones and has some disease resistance. It's probably still not as good as Rochester, Peregrine or Duke of York though.
If I can find it around here I'll try it against a south facing wall. They won't fruit for a few years anyway (3 if I remember right), and the blossom needs protecting if the spring is wet and / or windy or frosty
