I'd happily give all the tea away but some has expiry dates that have passed and some folk are so fussy about that! I know coffee deteriorates but tea doesn't seem to. Perhaps I should just acquire a taste for it myself

I just crept back in here to say that when I am having my coffee - it needs to be in a mug with a white inside. Otherwise it just doesn't work.
      Totally agree.

I cant stand instant coffee, the tassimo isnt that cheap to run, but...

      Cart noir crema intenso
      Kenco columbian
      costa americano
Are all in the cupoboard and are heaven in a mug!!

I also have chai latte for the tassimo, its good!

If i have a 'made' cup of tea i live '1706 strong breakfast' nice and strong!
I had a Dolce Gusto, which made fab froffy coffee but not cheap at nearly £4 for 8 cups (16 cups of espresso or non froffy coffee) so I now have a Senseo which uses coffee pods from anywhere. I have a secret stash of Jamaican Blue Mountain pods...

      ......Ok, that's it...I need coffee.

Its fine, Jules, I still give it to visitors and they don't complain (they wouldn't dare!)
Thought you might like to see how to make a cup of tea (from the packet)

Gosh.....I imagine you might have to add 'well boiled milk' in Sri Lanka!

We bought my brother and father in law some Kopi Luwak coffee. On the reverse of the pack you got a detailed description of the coffee and its....er...journey...before the brewing instructions. My brother refused to try it, but the FinL said it was very good.

OK Grapes, I've just worked out when that tea was bought - 1998 - it was the year of the suicide bombing at the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy - we were at the Temple about 10 hours before it was targetted and the explosion woke me
Much as it grieves me I am going to throw it in the compost bin tomorrow

Makes mental note, don't go to VCs for tea.

Watched the Mentalist the other day and someone put belladonna in the tea.

Makes another mental note, VC and Micky been foraging, watchout for whatever else they put in the tea.

Funny you should say that Steve!. I've just made myself a cuppa with a decidedly vintage tin of Kenilworth Ceylon - in a cafetiere (since I only had a huge teapot) - so broke all the rules and - I really enjoyed it Maybe I won't throw that old stuff away after all

Is that the magic kind or the kind that makes you bereft of life?

According to the lad who was picking them, they're perfect in a steak and kidney pie
Little innocent me, though he'd lost something in the long grass so I offered to help him look

Like things you can bake into cookies and flapjacks and have a similar effect, allegedly.

Think I'll stick to legal drugs like caffeine and alcohol.
                            And chocolate

Don't want to offend but I think I'll pass.
                                Thanks for the offer though.
