    OK- I won't mention our peak temperature then!
    Needless to say our crops have also been rubbish. Even my stringless French beans have been stringy/ rubbery/inedible ( apart from the very first pickings)

    First rain here in over 2 months started yesterday. Gentle showers- but better than nothing.

      Hi Nicos, nice to catch up. I must admit at one point I did start to wonder at what temp dried grass would just burst into flames????? We did manage to grow some sweet melon though

        I've got some melon in my greenhouse at the moment, I don't think it will reach sweet though.

        I've heard tell that we are in for an Indian summer....anything would be an improvement.
        I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

                  Yeah, thanks for that!

                  I mucked out my car, so I could collect a mower. Left all my tools out in the garden, as we weren't expecting rain. It's all chuffin' wet now.
