  • Yes Minister?

I might have been dreaming, but I'm sure I heard on the BBC news this morning that consideration was being made to appoint a "Minister for Older People". Be any good do you think?

    JUST MY OPINION.

Haven't heard anything FF, but I'm sure we have an Assembly Minister down here for the elderly. A good thing in theory considering a) the ageing population and b) the horror stories you hear about abuse of the elderly.

I bring to your attention once again to the fact that most of the problems we ladies have are usually prefixed by "men"

Thanks VC, it's nice to know I did hear it, even if I wasn't really listening. I'd vote for a Minister for Magic.

Hadn't realised that before, Flo, but you're absolutely right. So, as usual, its all their fault

There's enough of them now, plenty of sleight of hand and spinning of the truth going on.
I'd like a Minister for Vegetables. I think they need protection

You dont need a minister for older people.
What you need is just someone to come around and say "Would you like a nice cup of tea dear?, i'll just pop the kettle on!"

Could I have coffee please, Steve?
You're absolutely right though. I remember an old widowed lady telling me that the thing she would like most would be for someone to make her a cup of tea, instead of always doing it for herself. I hadn't realised how true that was until I found myself in the same situation. I can't remember the last time someone made me a cuppa in my own home

Don't feel sad for me, Steve, just all the other people out there, living alone, many of them too proud to ask for help. Noooooooooo, you're making me sad now too
