So wifey,made lunch today..

Scollops cooked in a sauce for starters
Venison casserole with roast veg & steamed greens
Meringue cups filled with whipped cream & raspberries

Then the invited couple phoned to cancel,with 45 min's notice "hope you haven't gone to any trouble".

I'd have only needed 45 minutes to get to you - somehow! Sounds delicious, hope you both enjoyed it, even without the company.

My rant? A very senior member of the medical profession who replied to an e-mail from me with just the words "The reason being?". How rude.

I'm ranting for Lottie ^^^ I thought your car had broken down, not that it was an insurance claim. Sorry, whatever, the reason.

thankx VC,it did break down,DH 7 son investigated,found out the engine is kna-ked,plus the electrics been playing up,had a new part ordered,now not needed,to much work to do,and the car daewoo lanos,are a pig to get at the bits,i wrang the insurance to cancel the policy,but will not do until as i said,but my mechanics tell me,tomoz is the day of the funeral,then i hopefully can get things sorted,what ever,i will loose out finantialy,could really do without it,
my rant is ,why did a car thats been looked after,and low milage put the piston or valves up,1 of the spark plugs was damaged,in a space of a few mins with no warnings,i want to cry bohoo

Ditto VC.

Went all the way into town for a new 12" springform tin. Spent hours finding one, bought it, came home, bus broke down too far away to walk the rest of the way. Waited 30 mins for replacement bus.....Got home & sister phoned. Told her about bad day and new tin (which I need for a cake she's volunteered me to make) and she says 'Oh! I've got your big tins...borrowed them in the summer when you were in bed after your fall'

No one informed me of this - apparently, I was out of it on happy pills and the sister popped around and borrowed my tins. She spoke to my kids and the BH and they have ALL forgotten.

Brilliant, just brilliant.

Broke me ruddy trowel. Not my lovely stainless one with the wooden handle, that I use at home. But the longer cheap-n-cheerful one that I use for work. It cost me �3.99 about three years ago, in a local branch of the black & orange DIY chain.

People who change your day round, so you can do sommat for them (us), then don't send the promised info, so I'm sat 'ere waiting at the poota, like a pillock!

People who promise to look after your disabled husband and then don't. If you borrow something, return it in the original condition. You lot can all go about your normal day as you please; he cannot; he will be in agony. And you don't even appreciate that, you really don't care how much time he devotes to your school for free.

Wish I could persuade him not to sign off on your masshoosive pay rise........
