Middle aged is a silly expression! If our allotted span is 3 score years and ten, then middle aged would be 35. How many 35 year old think they're middle aged? Grumpy old so and so's maybe

OK, now I've forgotton what this thread is about!

By defination, I am middle aged.

As the "man I feel" (sorry mods!) is older than me, that makes me older

As my optimal age is somewhere around either 8 or 28.......

            Maybe I'm just confused!!
            (oh, yes, that'd be it....)

Certainly don't feel middle aged - old sometimes, but NEVER middle aged.

And if anyone want grumpy so and so lesson, I vounteer Mr PnK!!! (who I love dearly, by the way)

Have you ever come out with something (verbally) and thought 'Oh no...I sound just like my mum/dad/granny? That's scary.

I think I hit middle-age with some things earlier than with others. I realised this when, years ago, I walked in on the DD watching TOTP and said 'What a bloomin' awful noise!' and sounded just my Dad did when I was a TOTP fan.

                Too specific?

I think you've reached middle age when you lie about how old you are, and you've reached old age when you shout it from the rooftops again as though it is a badge of honour.

Ancient used to be when you got a letter from Her Majesty, but there are so many of those now I'm not sure she still does it. I was quite looking forward to that TBH.

                            .
Its funny how the ones who want to tell you how old they are, expect you to say "No, You can't possibly be x years old. You don't look a day over 50/60/70 etc!! Usually they are the ones who look really ancient and you have to cross your fingers while "complimenting" them.
Mind you my Mum's 92 and I tell everyone she's my sister!

I don't know what to say to that VC, does that mean she looks good or you've had a hard life?

Does ma'am as in arm, still give out letters?

It makes Mum laugh and embarrasses anyone we're talking to, so its worth it!!
I'm pretty sure Ma'am still sends out letters, hang around a bit longer and you'll find out
