We also had our allotment around 5 weeks ago and I have been growing/planting things at home but running out of space. Put some squashes outside today as it was very warm and sunny. I knew showers were expected but not bloodly hail just when I had gone out and left them outside! Followed by brilliant sunshine again - absolutely marvellous. I find growing runner beans in pots is best as we have a bird/mice/slug problem down at the allotment. (up till now I have shared another plot for the last 4 years) Have you any space FC to sow some things at home ready to plant out on your new allotment. Is it in good nick? We have had to do a lot of clearing of rubbish and weeds. Fingers crossed for a good weekend as my OH has 3 days off work then.

I'm also kind of between houses, so sowing is proving a little bit challenging.

Ooff, just done that between houses stuff myself. It's hard work innit? Still trying to sort out (very very slowly) the beds, so no chance to sow stuff. But got a plastic greenhouse full of things that cant go out till the frost is past, like a canna, young bedding plants, and some young veggies like beans. I cheated and grew them in the greenhouse with a heated bed at work.

Thank you, if I can't actually get up to much on my allotment at the moment, the next best thing seems to be talking about it, and to avoid losing friends who don't share my obsession, this site seems to fit perfectly.
