Turf humping

I'm in the process of bordering my plot with a foot wide raised planter for herbs, using some ply, membrane, and roofing battens. This stops any strimmed grass going all over your beds, could be a good way of using up the surplus turf?

Its not so much the turf as the good friable topsoil its composed of that I would be agrieved to lose.......................

I would feel the same although it is all going to the 'works' area on camp, so the by-product will still be available to us AND we've just been told to help ourselves to last years rotted leaf mould - RESULT
