No, I think you'll find your thread was merged with the one I'd already started the day before

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Not really your fault as I didn't give it a very good heading so mods have moded that too when they merged

Sloppy and attemtping to be sensational journalism is really getting on my nerves...todays record goes to
River Cottage fire: Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall speaks of his shock after learning of blaze | Mail Online
"After a teacher demonstrated how to fillet and cut fish they returned to their workstations and tried it themselves. However, hours later the fire started."

The relevance is that a cookery class took place, or that you've written it so a cookery class took place [at a cookery school] at the same location as a fire took place? Or that the cookery class themselves were to blame for the fire?
SHould have been in the rant thread really....

We once had a chip pan fire. I was at work and OH was cooking chips. Son at college and two daughters of infant school age saw the lot. No escape other than past the pan. OH panicked but daughters told him what to do...wet cloth and all the rest of it. While he was soaking cloth the fire just went back down into the pan and went out. When he told me I said chip pan fires don't do that...we all know this. No fire damage at all.

Any body got a reason why it went out? Personally I think it was because my dad had died about a month before. He was still watching over us. Silly perhaps. Can't think of another reason though.

I had a bit of a shock when this story made the news....I'm off there for a 4 day cookery course in March, (my sister won the course in a competion and kindly donated her win to me), and I assumed it probably would be cancelled. But the good souls at RC emailed me within 24 hours to assure me The Show must go on :-)

Since Zaz believes I have an "in at River Cottage, here's the latest from my source:

Things are heating up down here at River Cottage HQ . . .
But don't worry folks, it's not the barn this time. We may have lost our building but we haven't lost our sense of humour!
We're moving on, and after all the drama it's back to business here.
"We're delighted we've turned things around so quickly," said head chef Gill Meller.
"Our courses and events will be back to normal in a couple of weeks, and we're looking forward to getting back to what we do best," he added.
Hugh commented: "I'd like to again thank the wonderful River Cottage team, who have been fantastic in returning the farm to business as usual. "Host Steve Lamb put it best: "Where there was sadness and loss there is now a strong optimism."
As usual we have a number of discounted tickets for forthcoming events at River Cottage which return to normal from Friday 24 February onwards.
Same place, same people, same River Cottage experience. See you soon,
                    River Cottage X

Taff, the point is that filleting fish can cause fires!
