I included some classical, and the edible plant book.
Wind-up gramaphones played LPs as well as singles. I'm mot convinced singles were all they allowed, but possibly only 'one piece of music on an LP' type classical stuff, in which case I want the Pastoral!
Records have 2 sides, but most of the singles I would choose, I don't know what would be on the other side.
I think the modern version is a CD player with solar charger....... (that's my excuse anyway).

Having thought about it for nearly an hour while polishing the furniture, I can't believe I haven't included any Beatles, Mamas and Papas, Bee Gees, Annie Lennox or Erasure. I also love listening to Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Brahms. The list is probably endless. I'm not going to the island.

I think the trick for this is to pick tracks that you can listen to repeatedly & in any order,they also need to have happy memories or emotions attached

But ultimately Flo is right,there are practically too many to narrow down to such a small number

I agree BB, that it's probably the memories and emotions that are stirred when we listen to certain pieces of music. Itchycoo Park reminds me of after a football presentation night at about 4 in the morning in the middle of Sheffield when Himself was singing it, flung out his arms, banged his wrist on a wall and broke a very expensive watch! Few too many hops. You see, I forgot Small Faces as well. I have a very poignant memory of Maggie May, but I can't tell you about that.
