How many days gardening?

.................have you had over the christmas holidays?

I've managed three full days at the allotment, but it rained all day on one of them so I spent most of that day tidying the greenhouse!
I go there very day for the chooks, but only spend about an hour with them.

Had a session weeding today, which will give my back a day to recuperate before work on Tuesday!

Approximately none I'm ashamed to say. The weather hasn't been fit and neither have I, so I have used the holiday to rest. Oh, I did dig up some parsnips on Christmas morning, does that count?

We have been in the garden every day except yesterday - but we were remodelling it! So it was more landscaping than gardening. Although I did some weeding today and spent a little time brushing my hand repeatedly over the Crimson Clover leaves - they are really soft and slightly furry you know. And today I repotted Elderberry [Black Lace] and our Grape cuttings that have taken, which I am very chuffed about. The only thing that stopped play was the lack of light.

We have been up a few days, Christmas day afternoon being one of them. We were there again today finishing off some chicken muck spreading. Agree with Zazen though, weather dark and grim. Will be there again tomorrow probably or maybe I shall be sowing in the greenhouse, as this afternoon saw more seed buying...oops!

My bad..!!! The 24th was the only time i went to the lottie and that was to get some snips and sprouts. I have loads to do there but the same as the rest of you, the weather isn't much good at the moment.

Have hardly been at the lottie over the last few weeks never mind days, sent OH up on Christmas eve to get the parsnips. Hope to go today even if I just potter. Cant wait to get back to normal working hours and back to a routine.

24th to old plot for parsnips with GD, 26th to move most of the contents of my shed to new plot and 30th to measure new plot to make a plan. Technically the new plot isn't mine until 25 Jan but the ex tennant is fine about me moving stuff and I will begin to work it soon.

Went up to No 1 on the 19th Dec and No 2 on the 23rd - then no 2 again on the 29th. TBH there is little to do - I could pull some turnips or black radishes - but I dont have any extra overwintering crops in.
We're planning on tidying/digging both today but at the mo, its pouring with rain....
The only jobs to do are pruning the apple tree, giving the trees a wash and pruning back the grape vine....plus digging in some chicken manure pellets.....

I *want to sow some onions/leeks but am waiting for my new modules to arrive....

After giving up the lottie in the back end of 2011 to concentrate on growing in my back garden, i spent boxing day morning gutting back some overgrown bushes and part filled my new raised bed. The following 2 mornings i did some tidying up.
Friday i went to the stables and filled a dozen sacks with part rotted hos muck and refilled my daleks with it so it will rot down for next winter.
Newyears eve i went to the local micro brewery and picked up a dozen sacks of spent hops, poured several sack fulls into my raised bed and sored the rest for mulching in the summer.
yesterday was wet so i started of some seeds.
If i still had the lottie i doubt if i would have ventured down.

None really but I have been down to dig some veg(cabbage, leeks, parsnips & swede)also "gathered" some spinach.
My allotment is not too bad a the moment so I don't need to do anything at the moment.

No gardening just tidying up the garden a bit and collective parsnips, leeks, kale, spinach and some lettuce from the greenhouse. Then today I'll be digging up some JA's and winter savoury ready for tea.

I spent a day last week, barrowing woodchip in the rain, and that's been about it for weeks. Haven't even ordered seed or seed potatoes yet - no money and no time!

Mr Z is out there at the moment, barrowing old composted bark onto the new beds; and then emptying the dalek. Which means I'll have space again to put stuff. Whoop whoop.

Not been up at all except to harvest just before Christmas but over the festivities I'd prefer to spend the time with family and friends. Will be back up next weekend though.
