"I am not a number"Originally posted by Pottypotter View PostI thought we were a small comunity on this forum, I couldn't believe it when I saw that there are more than 2000 members
It did make me laugh when I joined the allotment. The chap that runs it is in his mid-late 70's, I was born in the mid-seventies, so I guess we have that in common. When I told him how "old" I was (32), he replied "ooh, a young-un". I haven't been called that for years, made my day!Originally posted by inca'smum View PostMy friends think that gardening and growing things is for pensioners and boring people, so you can imagine the amount of stick that I get. Its refreshing to come on to the grapevine site and feel like you fit in.
Mange tout, I am "young" on several fronts - young in terms of posts...erm.... posted, young in terms of gardening knowledge....
Our allotment doesn't seem to have that community feel that so many of you speak, a few solitary gardeners - most of which I have had to initiate conversation.

I got up at 3am yesterday and 4am today. Usually go to bed about 10 or 11pm. I don't get up early because I want to, it's because once I wake up I can't go back to sleep again so I might as well get up. Luckily, I'm a 'morning' person.Originally posted by Headfry View Postwoah, what time did you wake/go to bed Squash63?
