Chris get some child friendly paint and get her to put hand print decorations on the brown paper - or cut out a potato into a star shape and do potato prints. A shake of glitter while the paint is still wet and voilá!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

You can turn a handprint into a Rudolph.

Wrap a little cellotape around your finger to make double sided tape.

Once attached, it doesn't look like a strip of tinsel, more like a little sparkly bobble. Hard to describe but doesn't look naff - well I don't think so.

Er, yes. I thought that's what I'd written.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

Well we buy a variety of wrapping paper, my sister however layers different coloured tissue paper and ties with twine or ribbon so when you undo the knot it unravels in your lap. Even after 10 years I'm still impressed by it.

One thing we do each year, is cutout shapes and pictures from Christmas cards we've received and use them as gift tags for the next year. This isn't really a cost saving thing, I genuinely believe you get much nicer more individual tags by this method.

Just to gloat, we've almost finished our shopping!!
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Brown paper, recycled christmas cards as gift tags and twine...pref a jolly colour.
Sometimes sheets from mags or newspaper - a good effect is to tape different ones together like a patchwork.
The only wrapping paper I buy is to wrap Santas presents to my 8 year old...

bought wrapping paper, usually bought from whichever supermarket I do the shopping in that week. Nothing fancy. Always recycled. Boring.
