I'm squarely in the 'love all seasons' camp, each brings an up/down to them for me - life is balanced

In wintertime, every hour of sunshine is a bonus - to be enjoyed and cherished. A walk on the beach, with the dogs, or in the beech woods kicking up the leaves, Even, snatching a tea break sitting in that sheltered bit of the garden in the warmth of the winter sun. Then inside, a crackling log fire and a big bowl of "Blip blip blip" whatever that is. Hope it doesn't have meat in it!!

I like winter, I like the loads of steaming horse muck I get delivered because the horses aren't out in the fields, I like the proper cold to kill off the germs and slugs, I like the fact that a week after digging on the lottie I can still see where I've been. I love setting the fire and listening to it crackle while reading a good book, I love stew and cawl, and porridge for brekkie.

I don't like going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark, and I don't like having to wear a jumper or warmer socks, and I don't like having to pay for oil to heat the house.

Every season has its good and bad points.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I hate the dark and I hate being cold. I truly wish I could hibernate from Nov-Mar every year

can't be doing with it .... I am definately a warm weather person, once I get cold I find it really hard to warm up .

Plus the cat has short legs and if it snows he won't walk through it as he doesn't like getting his belly wet - I have to rescue him

It's always wet when you go out, which means me trousers, that scrape along the floor becasue I'm a bit short, get all soggy and mingin. I HATE HATE that. I have some boots now so it's all good. I have a love/hate relationship with the winter. Getting up in the dark is depressing but seeing the sun coming up on your way to work makes you feel special.

I also feel quite special down t'lotment. It's always drizzly and cold and nearly everyone but the die hards are at home supping tea or whatever and I'm down there, with the veterans, feeling hardcore and smug with me waterproofs on. Then you come home all filthy and have to find somewhere to dump your disgusting clothes. Or have to call at Mozzas on the way looking like a right state and smelling of weed bin tea. Mind you that happens in the summer too.

It's a mixed feeling, but you know it won't be long before you can start taking over the bathroom with tommies and chillies again

coverd car! Well not this year as i retired in March, and am loving it even more now
So if the weather does change for the worse i can look out and think, sod it, brew in
hand and go back to bed
Of course i will be thinking of you fellow drivers as a get back in bed, and think what a shame

snuggling up with the kids in front of a roaring log fire, making snow men.
Hate the short days and being frozen waiting for trains

I hope the fellow drivers realise how considerate we non-workers are - keeping off the snowbound roads so that they can struggle to work more easily through less traffic!

I love my cheeks stinging with the cold so long as the rest of me is all wrapped up and toasty.
I love the way the bushes and trees look like they are encrusted with diamonds that sparkle when the sun hits them.
I love the first blankets of snow and how it makes even the dreariest of places look so fresh and clean.

                          I hate gritted slush
                          I hate short days
I hate being cold, takes me hours to heat up again

I love the shapes of the bare trees, there is great beauty in 'undressed' trees and shrubs.
I love Christmas (going to miss my Monty cat though- first year without)

I could go on and on......
Just shutting the back door on a dark miserable night is nice too
Working in the garden/plot - getting cold and coming into a warm snug house and a mug of tea! or a sloe gin tee hee!
                            Winter hugs with Mr HF
...... see I do keep going on and on and on.....

Went for a glorious walk yesterday afternoon. It really is the season of mellow mists and fruitfulness. I like all seasons. How would you appreciate the summer swimming in the sea if there wasn't any biting cold to contrast it with? hahaha
