        The other problem G4 is that my boundary hedge is about 7 foot away from the wall.With the ladder 7 foot out and jammed into the bottom of the hedge it gives a reasonable angle to the ladder. If I added another three foot to the top the ladder I would only have a 4 foot rake over the height to the roof..............not ideal, in fact nearly vertical!

                My mates OH was braving it up top of ladder cleaning out the gutters, with my mate standing with a foot on the bottom rung. Or so he thought until .......she appeared at the upstairs window with a cloth and bucket of water saying ....wash the window while you're up there .....
