Whew, back home now!

Interview was with both the Store Manager and Personnel Manager, lasted just over an hour, and for a Line Managers job (Department Manager basically), which is similar salary to what I currently earn and less responsibility (although probably the same sort of hours and unpaid overtime, which I dont mind too much). Lots of 'competancy based' questions, (similar to what we use at work when interviewing someone), so most of it wasnt too difficult. Hardest questions was 'How would we know that Suzanne was having a bad day?', which isnt an easy one to answer!

The positions that they have available could mean working nights, which I didnt say no to, but did say Id need to talk it over with hubby first, the main thing is to get my foot in the door and then hopefully move forwards in the future, rather than staying where I am and becoming more and more disheartened.

They seemed a little concerned that I was 'specialist knowledge based' and would I be able to move to a more general knowledge basis without resenting that, which I said I wouldnt have a problem, and also that I wasnt clued up on their product range, to which I replied product knowledge is easily gained.

My questions were answered well, the best one of them was 'What is your expectation of me?' which got a really positive and passionate reply from the store manager.

All in all it went ok, just got to wait now and see whether they feel I would fit in and what dept they think I could move onto. I should find out within 7 days, so keep them fingers crossed for me!

I always find it hard to gauge how interviews go - you never quite know what they are looking for. I'm a pessimistic optimist when it comes to my own interviews.
