Our mental health team will no longer talk to us ... The doctor wont see us

Just wondering ... has anyone, any body or person, offered your hubs any kind of treatment? All I can see is sticks, no carrots

Twosheds, he had a therapist briefly but after a few sessions they stopped it as they didnt have the funds for her to keep coming out. Even then I was told that service didnt exist and I had to go through my MP. I have argued and argued with the pct but as far as I am concerned they are a lying bunch of torags!! They even told the MP that hubby had attended sessions in their offices! The docotr wont come out unless we go through NHS direct. In 3 years he has seen hubby twice. When he lost his eyesight he refused to come out and told us we werent his problem as we wont do as he says (go to see an optometrist) in the end we found the outside clinic that do hearing and eye tests ourslves and they are funded via the NHS. I use graded exposure therapy with him as we were taught how to do that years ago, but without the knowledge behind us its very difficult. Well, they say this stuff is meant to test us. Its character building hehe!

It's a jolly good job that you're a strong-willed, resilient, persistent and resourceful person, Jax. How on earth a weaker-willed person would cope with what you do, I have no idea! I really don't know how you manage, but ((((HUGE HUGS)))) from me. I don't understand half of what your Husband is suffering from, but you are obviously his rock. Best wishes to you both. Go Girl!

Aww thankyou. He has agoraphobia and monophobia (which means I dont leave the house either as it is a fear of being on your own and I am his "safe" person.) caused by generalised anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder. Im glad I typed that and not said it as I would be out of breath haha. We all have our crosses to bear! I reckon my character must be MAHOOOOSIVE by now He'll get there, even if I do have to kick him up the bum every now and again!!

We are currently restoring a classic car which was my way of keeping him outside for great lengths of time Hence me not being online so much these days.
