There is definitely a glitch in the system, we're all periodically getting the 'database error'. Unfortunately, the techies aren't in until Monday, so we're just going to have to wade through it til then

Dyslexia rules KO. I read that as "tetchies" . Bet they will be.

I haven't had any database errors but it is terribly slow. Something I've found is that I'm no longer getting email notifications of new posts in threads I'm watching. That only seems to have been happening for a few days - wonder if it's connected...

I keep clicking on 'Post Quick Reply' and I get the timer icon. Then a message telling me I have to wait 30 seconds between posts, and I scroll down to see it has already been posted. I have noticed double-posts from several other Peeps, so assume I'm not the only one.

Why do these glitches happen on a Friday, so it's a pain all weekend. I bet the 'Tetchies' (Nice one, Sylvan!) dread Monday morning!

We're trying to keep on top of duplicated posts. I think you're right, a lot of peeps are double posting because the system is so S...L...O...W. As Sarz said, I think we're just going to have to hang in there until tomorrow.

getting constant database errors, can't access it from the homepage either, it's a one chance shot this post won't disappear as i click send.....

I have a feeling it was the searching causing the issues (indexes perhaps?) - if you did an advanced search, that seemed to cause the slow down.. the whats new button too is a search too, so perhaps it was linked.

I think that when people post they don't realise the (geeky bit: ajax call) post has been made, so they click the button again (you may see the duplicate post warning). Really, the devs should have stopped the button from firing the event again, incase of time lapses like this.

Actually, thinking about it.. is the database replicated? I've seen similar in a replicated environment when they're slightly out of sync.

There's a known issue with the forum (totally seperate from the upgrade) that we've been looking into this morning and afternoon. Just letting you know that it's being worked on and we're hoping to fix it soon.

Hi Dave,thanks for getting it up & running again ,one small point - my new posts button returns a blank page may just be this machine but just thought to mention it

Just incase it's not the issue being worked on, the 'What's New' search button leads to a blank page

never noticed the "Whats New" button before but it laeds to the same page (blank) as the "New Posts" button

Yep, I think the 'New Posts' link has been left in for legacy reasons *shrug*?

Search & Advanced search's also both lead to blank pages

Was going to post this blank page problem but you've already done it! Like to to see the days events rather than trawl through each subject, any news anyone?
