        Frozen peas and much better then shop bought 'fresh' peas and are a great stand by, but not as good a home grown peas freshly picked, podded and eaten raw with dirty hands.
        But the best veg has to be runner beans as you can pick and eat them fresh from june util the frosts blacken em (had some cropping right up to xmas the other year) and can be easily frozen and stored for winter use.
        If we could only grow one veg it would have to be BEANS

          I'll stick to the roots, because they are available ALL YEAR ROUND. I wouldn't want a national veg that is only at its fresh best for a few weeks of the year!
          Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
