                    • Been chatting this over with Nicos and J and I will be there for sure.

I'm a fair to middling cook - well, bit better than that - so tho we won't be doing the camping thing, happy to pitch in with other things.

As for swaps, may try to go to Vinstock on our way back from the Uk on a plant and kit hunt.

                      • I was thinking - I'm equidistant between St Malo and Roscoff (BINIC) so if anyone is travelling from one of those ports and wants info on campsites or stopping off points, feel free to ask.

Bob, any info on hotels or campsites that rent vans in your area?

                        • Bit of a random question...

Which is the shortest ferry crossing... Mr OWG is not a fan of boats....???

                          • It depends where you live as to which is the best option, but Dover - Calais is short. Plymouth - Roscoff is 5 to 6 hours, Portsmouth - St Malo is 9 to 11 hours, Porstmouth - Caën is about 6 hours.......There's a seacat from Poole that's a bit quicker...
You live in Lancashire, so I expect the easiest for you is Plymouth - Roscoff.
                            Then,

                            • Thanks PN... still wondering if doing the eurotunnel plus a 5hr drive might be better from Mr OWG's point of view (i.e. no boats!)....

                              • OWG we always go on the fastcraft from Poole which takes about 2hrs 15 , I don't particularly like boats either but can manage this one ok......land at cherbourg then its a pretty much straight drive down towards Rennes with a lunch stop at the Mont St. Michel service area ......then I'm guessing its round the the ringroad to the south of Rennes and then south a bit......no toll roads.
The only thing about a longer ferry journey is you could get a cabin and have a sleep if needed....
