I'm certainly no expert here- but .....

The centre of The Perseids meteor shower came from just below and right of the North Star and basically starburst like a firework in all directions from there.

It's debris from the Swift-Tuttle comet .

Others will be the 'boring old ones' which you'd normally see on other days.

Triffids are real and I'm already getting my children to dig a bunker under the garden to hide as using the sofa as a shield is only strong enough to protect us from Cybermen and Daleks

It was overcast on Friday, so not a chance of seeing anything! Last night was glorious - clear and warm. I stood outside for 25 minutes and saw 2 planes and 1 meteor, which was a bit disappointing. One of the disadvantages of living in the suburbs ... lots of ambient light.
