does anyone have a tip for cleaning blinds

apparently take them out in the garden and use the hose on a nice day works!

Now then- I've just had a brainstorm!!!

It's bound not to work- but what do you think????

Wash the blinds thoroughly as you would with a spring clean and then wipe over with one is those silica shoe sponges- esp in the areas that tend to get greasy.

I've done that on wooden curtain poles to make the wooden rings glide more easily- and noticed that the dust just blew off the top.

Might be worth a try- just a light wiping with it.

Anything that will reduce the effort involved Nicos, even it is for the future.
I haven't heard of silica shoe sponges before, so I googled it.
I haven't noticed them anywhere around here, but I will keep an eye open now that I know what they look like.
Do they come in different colours or a clear one; I only got brown and black on my search, and the blinds are (((meant to be))) white.

All the big supermarkets sell them- and yes they do come in clear too!!!
