Now I must belong to the past - I really don't like floury spuds. Waxy for me!

Grew Edzell Blue last year - once you've mastered the very short cooking time, they are yummy.

        Flummery - I don't think it's past and present.
I'm growing floury spuds because of the lovely way of cooking them you find all over Ireland. Out there it's Roosters and Kerrs Pink and they make for the finest boiled spuds on the face of God's green earth.
I always thought British spuds were a bit of a let-down after coming home from one of the many (many many) holidays over there - especially after the summer holidays when I'd been eating them for over a month.

Thompson & Morgan have been selling mini tubers of heritage varieties of coloured potatoes. They've got a purple one called Vitelotte, blue one 'Salad Blue' & burgundy 'Highland Burgundy'. All say they retain their colour if you steam them, not sure I fancy blue or purple mash though!
