Regular, or 'successional' sowing is really handy to do in cell-trays (the seed trays that are divided into small sections) if you're growing in containers. It's especially a good idea for things like lettuces - you don't want all of them to be ready at once, so you sow a few every 2 - 4 weeks, and once you've eaten the first lot, you can plant the new plants into the space left behind. Hope that makes sense?

Aww, thanks.Originally posted by HeyWayne View PostTheir loss, our gain.
How nice. In that case I'd like to know the name of the first man you snogged and your favourite biscuit.Originally posted by ginger ninger View PostThat's terrible Pidge...You'll not get none of that on here...the modes won't allow it, mind you neither will we.
And with regard to questions...well you can ask friends anything
Thanks, I honestly could not get my head round that. Will make sure I do that with my spring onions then.Originally posted by elsie-scot View PostDon't sow them on top, either leave a space in the container, or grow in a separate area/container. Can either grow on in the other container, or transfer across to your other container once you remove a mature plant.
Yep vine is very friendly, people may have quite strong views at times, but not in a threatening way
Haha, love it! You cad.Originally posted by enrich100 View PostIf memory serves me right bolting is what I did when my first girlfriend said she wanted to settle down and that I should meet her parents
Ooo, get me on the norty step! I'm in a village between near Burford.Originally posted by Headfry View PostHi Pidge and welcome to the vine, where in Oxon are you?
I am out Banbury way.
This is a great forum with lovely kind people who have helped me in so many ways.
I think the worst that happens here is some of us get sent to the' norty step' where we eat chocs, drink wine and with a jolly pat on the back welcome each other to the 'step'.
An example would be mentioning CHRISTMAS out of season
so guess I am on my there now then.....but I was only using it as an example m'lord!
It is a lovely forum .....enjoy!
Snips! Sorry, but it's always snips.Originally posted by elsie-scot View PostOr, so it seems to write the word PARSNIPS in full
The only trouble with that for me is lack of sill space for the seed trays. It makes perfect sense though so thank you very much!Originally posted by SarzWix View PostRegular, or 'successional' sowing is really handy to do in cell-trays (the seed trays that are divided into small sections) if you're growing in containers. with lettuce etc, you can sow a whole module of, say, 24 cells. Plant out 8, when they are big, plant out the next 8 and so on.Originally posted by Pidge View Postcouldn't quite work out how to sow more on top of some already settled if it's in containers?
With radish, when I pull one I sow another seed in its place [/QUOTE]

Radish is one I am thinking of growing this year, so it's useful to know I can sow, grow, plant, re-plant.
