It's driving me mad, we have a shrub in school which I know the name of, but can't recall it! Can you help if I describe it with no picture. It's around 5' high, light bark, evergreen (light pale leaves) slightly rounded leaves sort of, reminds me of a Laurel, but leaves are around 2/3" in length? Never seen it flower or fruit (maybe due to planting conditions etc) Maybe a bit of a Monday night challenge!

Portuguese Laurel (Prunus lusitanica)? Darker green leaf than regular Laurel, more like a Bay. Are the tips of the stems slightly red?

Oooh, that's not it, it's got really pale green leaves (almost yellow) it's never fruited or flowered, looking at the Laurel picture it's leaves are more rounded and probably upto 2 to 2.5" Thanks anyway, it's quite a common shrub and I can't think of the name, will kick myself when I do! It's more sort of waxy like a Laurel leaf, not sure if it's related though?

sound very much like a pittosporom,can have a greyish tint to the leaves sometimes and are evergreen,i grew 6 from seeds and each one was slightly different when mature,but trouble free..

Hi, it is a type of this plant. When I was googling I got the first 4 letters right, it's more established now around 5' in height without variegated leaves. I think that is it! Thanks!
