Old watches are great, aren't they. I have my father's old one - it spent some time with him in pow camp during the war! It still works but I don't like to risk it. I also have a russian watch which needs a service, I think. Now where did I leave it?

Wont you sort of miss the ritual though? Bet you thought of your Granddad each and every time with a smile on your face.

My Grandmas' is in my box of special stuff - it was just a cheapo thing and it's straps all loose but it was part of her getting ready ritual: watch, lippy, face powder, hairspray and polo mint before getting her handbag and coat on. (sigh)

I will kinda - but I'll still give it a good clean once in a while. Makes me think of Grandad all the time really, hence the reason for buying it.

                One is not amused!!!

Glanced down at my watch today, and thought the face looked a bit smeary. Figured it's probably something Bean smeared on it. Gave it a wipe. Nothing.

There is condensation on the inside of the glass!!!!

                Not happy at all.

Back to the cleaning ritual then???

( actually I was thinking about watch cleaning and it suddenly dawned on me...I always remove my watch when I do anything which would make it dirty- eg gardening, cooking, baking- and OH always keeps his on, so I can understand why mine never needed a scrub- and OH's does!!)

I rarely wear a watch, done have to really. But my medic alert wrist band is one of their sports range, very hard wearing nylon something strap and boy, does that get gunky.

One on and one in the wash at all times!
