Thank you all so much for your kind messages. I have read them all to Mrs D, who is trying to rest between feeds and she sends her thanks.
Both mum and baby are home - the hospital offered discharge when he was less than 24 hours old. We held off until mum was comfortable feeding, though the extended stay made mum keen to leave asap and return to home comforts.
He had his 72 hour weigh this afternoon and he has only lost 1% of his birth weight so things must be ok in the feeding dept!
Here is a bonus pic, note the outfit is 0 month - everything swamps the little one at the moment.
Mr D the cat is a bit miffed at the moment, keeping a low profile. We are doing our best to treat him just as before and he has had some treats to soften the impact of the new arrival. I won't remove him from the avatar just yet - he sometimes reads the vine over my shoulder!Attached FilesExcuse me, could we have an eel? You've got eels down your leg.

A quick note about the name;
Evan - after Mrs D's deceased and much loved grandpa
Samuel - for my lovely niece Sammy who was taken by leukaemia aged 14
If he turns out a fraction as lovely as them two we'll be extremely proud parents.Excuse me, could we have an eel? You've got eels down your leg.
