We spend £68 per month on leccy but at the moment we are in credit by about £70 quid...
We cook electric
Electric shower .......used very frequently (have two daughters)
2 freezers
2 fridges
Washing machine on nearly every night(timer set for night rate)
Dishwasher on every night
Breadmaker every couple of days at least
Tv's , lappies and all the general paraphernalia of two girls ie hair straighteners which are off and on at all hours of the day
Most lights have energy saving bulbs luckliy cos people leave them on
and don't forget the pump for the central heating .......

I pay £48 a month leccy on DD _ I have a chest freezer and electric shower, which are the main culprits, plus currently we have the electric fire going for a while in the late evening when the central heating turns off as its so damned cold.

So, we do two loads of washing a week, on 30 degrees, family of 3 (sometimes 4)
OH has a shower everyday, and although I try to limit to 5 mins, in this weather it takes that long to warm up!
Electric fire - about an hour a day.
Comps - pretty much all day
TV - in evening
Breadmaker - every other day (approx 4 hours)
Kettle - 7 times a day ish only full to where needed.
Lights - we use the eco ones, and always switch off when not in use.

We're on a water meter too so have double the worry with the shower/washing machine etc.

Oh judging by that then ours must be cheap haha!

6 grown ups all using the electric shower (gets used about 4-6 times a day), 6 laptops and sets of speakers etc (musicians!), lots of lights around the house, heating is on pretty much all the time (big, cold house) an oil heater in the loft (my room) as its very very cold and draughty and a few tvs people have too. so probably not as bad as i thought !

Our electric bill is nigh on £100 a month. But everything is electric except the central heating, and that uses a pump obviously. There are 5 of us, tons of washing to do, tumble dryer, upright freezer, dishwasher, oven on every day, 5 computers, 3 TVs, shower going at least twice a day, nobody seems to know how to switch a light off...

Sorry to say this again on this thread but if you're with BG then please check your meter number etc plus everything else in their small print, you'll be surprised. You can spend hours on the phone and they can't give an answer even when you ask how to work out your bill, pretty poor in my opinion, yet we all still pay the bill, question it, you'll be surprised!

get off economy 7 and onto a better tarrif, I did and saved £250 without having to turn a light off.

gah. talking about using lekky, i just had to run the washing machine 3 times and run a full bath trying to get my OH's sparkling white bedsheets back to white after washing them with other colours (hence why i never owned anything white). they still aren't white, in fact i soaked them for 12 hours with that oxy stuff someone recommended in another thread and its made it worse, it has seemed to brighten it from what was off purple to bright pink this is gonna cost loads. or i might just have to buy some new ones (which is probably more expensive than 3 months lekky, seeing as they are posh cotton ones0 doh!

There are colour-run-remover products. I wouldn't bother with any 'normal wash' stuff for this one, it just might be a case for old-fashioned bleach....
Alternatively, choose a colour that will cover what they are now, and simply dye them to suit you. If they are bright pink, a deep blue would work (might give a slightly purplish tone). Pink is about the worst colour to cover up, and of course reds are more prone to run than most colours.....
I avoid washing reds with anything paler until they have had several goes....

Indeed, it seems like such a luxury to put the washing machine on in daylight hours instead of stumbling round the house in the dark at 3am
