why does the Potatoes Made Easy - Revived for 2010 thread keep geting moved?
It currently resides in New shoots, I found it by doing a search, however, when it was here on the vegging out thread, it contained frequent new postings, now it seems to have far less.
If something is to be moved, shouldn't there be a link from the original forum to direct those that were viewing regularly? Especially as a lot that were using the thread were newcomers to the Vine?

No idea who moved it but I might move this thread as it's not exactly about growing, more a question about the forum itself.

How often has it been moved?

I'd suggest that if it's just the once it was a judgement call as the two boards are similar in nature - both provide hints and tips, one is specifially targeted to the new growers as you rightly point out - which may be why it was moved to New Shoots in the first place.

As to the links - I thought this was the case to be honest.

I'm sure a more knowledgeable and technically minded mod will be along in a minute - I'm just employed here as "the muscle".

Dont think it started off in general chat BM

I THINK the spud thread was moved for two reasons. Firstly to even up the amount of stickies Secondly it is more appropriate in new shoots. It is mainly newbies like myself with lots of basic spud questions after all.

Alternatively we could just have too much time on our hands and be trying to confuse everyone

The reaon I put the question in vegging out was
A) that gets more viewings and
B) the thread I was asking about started in vegging out, then was moved, then when I got used to it being in it's new home, it was moved back to vegging out, then last night it was moved again.
Additionally, I though general chit chat was a general O/T chatting to friends forum, so it didn't seem appropriate for there either.

CC - the thread in question has not been moved deliberately. When we merge sometime it picks up the board of the original thread and sometimes it picks up the board of the thread being merged. That's all that has happened!

There was a recent thread about the amount of threads stickied in vegging out so it was moved to new shoots, but if you go to 'user CP' you can see all the threads that you are subscribed to; so subscribe to it and you can always find it there no matter where it is.
