Well done Kirsty, and the best of luck. I have total admiration for anyone in the caring services, they do a fantastic job.

Enjoy your studies, but remember, just because you've become a 'student' that's no excuse for 'that' type of behaviour - after all, you've got a family an' all!

Good for you Kirsty!! Began my nurse training 10 years ago and had to give up having done 2 out of 3 years due to personal circumstances. Hard work but enjoyable at the same time and loved the work placements. Go for it!

Finally got my reference (was well pleased with it I can tell you!), and the application has been submitted. Now just the wait to see if I get an interview.

Positive vibes please peeps! With luck I'll be a student in September

                            Good on you Kirsty!
Great that you're going in with you're eyes wide open so to speak, no one will be asking you to measure the flatus in Mrs X's stoma bag or such like!
I think ex N.A.'s or HCSW's always make the best trained nurses.

If someone asked me that I'd play dumb and ask them to show me! As a stoma care link nurse on our ward, I'd be pretty disgusted with myself if I fell for that!

                                Woohooo!!!!

Got an interview date in the post today (end April), along with a very scary letter setting out what is expected of a nursing student as well as an equally scary list of documents and certifcates that I need to produce.

Also need to get a second reference too.

Exciting and frightening all at the same time
