You're quite correct Hilary, getting motivated is hard, but when you see the weight start to go, then it will change your way of thinking a little.
I had put on a fair bit of weight in the last few years, so it was enough incentive for me. As it turned out, I visited a Doctor who helps in a weight management group, not to help me lose weight, but to help me put the brakes on when it's time to stop at my target weight.

I have ME and arthritis in my lower joints and am losing steadily on the Atkins diet - that's the one that suits me, I'm not advocating it for everyone. Choose your preferred diet and do what exercise you can. There's plenty of encouragement on this forum, so don't give up the diet because you can't walk far.
